This Illustrator image tickled my brain in terms of finding the proper colour combination. I solved this visual puzzle by using tinted colours in a triad colour scheme.
I decided not to add many details because the main focus is on the character looking at her phone to take another perfect picture.

I used a paper-cut style for illustrating the waves to give
more depth to the image. Then, I added texture to the moon in reference to the moon’s detailed surface. As for the boat, it has a pivotal role in the image since it serves as the resolution of the viewer’s visual adventure. Furthermore, red colour places the emphasis on the boat and helps to direct the attention from the moon to the paper boat.
